Build a care rhythm
around your ride.

Rain, road grit, luggage and repeated short trips all shape how a commuter bike wears. The right care routine depends on how far you ride, the conditions and the equipment on your bike.

Follow the bicycle and component manufacturers’ care guidance. Notice changes in tyre pressure, brake feel, shifting and unusual sounds, and keep a simple note of workshop visits.

After the wet ride.

Let the bike dry in a suitable place, remove surface dirt using the manufacturer’s recommended method and pay attention to the drivetrain. Avoid forcing water into bearings or electrical components.

If cleaning and lubrication are unfamiliar, bring it up at the handover. We can explain the care appropriate to the parts on your bike.

Lights, guards
and the things you carry.

A loose mudguard, a bag strap near a wheel or a rack that has started to move deserves attention. Mention accessories when you describe a noise or vibration. They can be the source of the problem too.

Check that lights are charged or working before a journey and that luggage is secured clear of moving parts. For changes to racks, child seats or carrying capacity, follow the bike and accessory manufacturers’ compatibility guidance.

Make the workshop
visit useful.

Tell us the distance and surfaces you ride most often, how you store the bike and what you carry. That context helps us discuss suitable tyres, wear and service priorities.
