A thin decorative layer sits over a supporting material. Lifting, small losses and changes at edges need to be considered with that support.
Coatings
The finish contributes colour, sheen and protection. Its condition and identity affect what work can be proposed.
Fittings
Handles, hinges and fasteners may have been changed over time. Retained parts and proposed replacements are listed separately.
