Catch-up work
Find a reliable
starting point.
When periods are incomplete, the first job is to understand what exists and what is missing.
The assessment
Look at the state of the records.
Catch-up starts with the periods involved, the accounts in use and the source material available. We distinguish completed work from incomplete work and identify questions that require someone in the business to respond.
That assessment informs the sequence and scope. It does not assume every missing item can be reconstructed from the information already available.
The work plan
Work through the periods in an agreed order.
The plan sets out which records will be organized, which accounts will be reconciled and how missing information will be handled. Dependencies are kept visible so the business knows where its input is needed.
If we find a wider issue or a need for specialist support, we discuss the additional work with you.
The handoff
Explain what remains open.
At the end of the agreed work, the handoff records what has been completed and the items still requiring attention. That context supports a move into monthly work or a handover to another adviser.
