A FEW NOTES
FROM THE TABLE.

On the pleasures of a simple plate,
and staying for one more thing.

At the beginning

Bread & cultured butter

THE FIRST PLATE
SETS THE PACE.

Order bread while you decide what else you’d like.

Warm bread buys you a little time to choose. Tear off a piece, add butter and look over the small plates. If someone is running late, olives are a good thing to have on the table too.

On the menu, warm sourdough sits alongside marinated olives and whipped ricotta. They can be a short beginning before a larger dish or the start of an evening built entirely from small plates.

If you’re sharing, ask everyone to choose one dish. You might end up trying something you wouldn’t have ordered for yourself.

Carrots / ricotta / herbs

A DARK EDGE.
A BRIGHT FINISH.

The carrots are a good place to start if you haven’t tried the menu.

We roast them until tender and lightly charred, then add whipped ricotta, green herb oil and toasted seeds. It’s a simple plate, with enough going on to eat on its own.

Try a bite of carrot on its own, then one with the ricotta and herb oil. The cool cheese and fresh herbs balance the sweetness of the roasted carrots.

If you like the carrots, try the grilled cabbage with butter beans, almond cream and green sauce next.

Honey / chocolate / fruit

LEAVE ROOM
FOR ANOTHER
CONVERSATION.

There’s usually room for a little pudding.

The burnt honey tart comes with crème fraîche and sea salt. The chocolate pot has olive oil and shortbread alongside. If you’d prefer fruit, there’s seasonal sorbet.

If you can’t decide, the honey tart and chocolate pot are easy to share. Ask for another spoon and take your time with the last glass.
