Your first visit
Know what to expect
at your first visit.
The first appointment has a purpose: understand the concern, assess it, and discuss an appropriate next step.

Your conversation
Talk through what has changed, what you have noticed and the activities that matter to you.
Your assessment
Your clinician takes a history and examines movement as appropriate to the concern you bring.
Your next step
Discuss the findings, the options and whether care here or another professional is appropriate.
Before you arrive
Bring the details that help explain your day.
Think about when you first noticed a change and which ordinary activities are affected. There is no need to arrive with a diagnosis or a theory about the cause. Your clinician will guide the health-history discussion during the appointment.
Wear clothes you feel comfortable sitting and moving in. If you have relevant records from another clinician, speak with the practice about how those should be shared. This website does not collect clinical records.
A look inside
Get to know
the rooms.
A visit feels less unfamiliar when you know where it begins.

The arrival room
A place to settle in.
The bench beside the window gives you somewhere to sit before your appointment. Our visit coordinator helps with the practical details and lets your clinician know you have arrived.
About the practiceBefore you leave
Leave with the next step explained.
Your clinician talks through the findings and whether care here is appropriate. If an approach is proposed, the discussion includes benefits, risks and alternatives. A first visit does not automatically mean treatment, imaging or a course of return appointments.
