Life at Hearth
Our weekday school day runs from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with a long morning work period, lunch and time outdoors, followed by afternoon work or quiet time.

The classroom team welcomes each child and shares a brief handover with the arriving adult. Children put their belongings away and settle into the room.
Children work with materials, receive a presentation or return to an activity. The guide observes and supports the room. The long work period leaves time to concentrate and put work away before choosing something else.
Children bring a packed lunch from home. Lunch is followed by time outdoors, with room for play, garden work and looking after the shared environment.
The afternoon includes classroom work and quiet time. Children return to materials and projects, then help put the room in order before leaving.
The classroom team hands over to the collecting adult between 2:45 and 3:00 pm. The school day ends at 3:00 pm; there is no extended-day programme.

Beyond the classroom
The garden connects a school day with the weather, the plants, and the work of caring for a place.
