for the boat.
A few practical details make the first briefing easier. Confirm the meeting point, timing, boat and final kit list with the school before travelling.
Keep the kit simple.
Wear layers suitable for the conditions and bring a windproof outer layer. Choose secure footwear appropriate for the deck. Carry water and sun protection in a small soft bag.
Equipment fit and use are covered in the briefing. Do not assume that personal equipment is suitable without confirming it with the school.

Do I need experience?
First sail is for adults new to sailing. Boat handling and crew practice are for people with some time aboard. We discuss your experience before choosing a course.
What happens if conditions change?
The school reviews conditions before the session and the instructor continues to assess them aboard. Exercises may change, and a session may need to be moved or called off. Confirm the arrangements directly before travelling.
Will this give me a qualification?
These courses offer learning and practice. They do not award a qualification or permission to operate a boat independently.
Can I come with someone I know?
Describe the intended group and what each person wants to learn. Private coaching can be discussed around a shared aim, subject to a suitable plan.
What if I have an access question?
Ask about boarding, space and equipment before agreeing a session. You do not need to enter medical information in the course enquiry.
